Our boarding facility provides a clean and comfortable climate controlled environment, manned by our caring staff for the care of your pet while you are away. We board a wide variety of pets and can accommodate their special needs. We feed Hill’s Science Diet premium pet foods and provide soft fuzzy fleece mats to rest on. Dogs get exercised in our outside, covered runs.
Do you have a pampered pet? Well, we have upgraded packages which include one on one play time with one of our care takers, treats and extra time outside. Why not give your pet the extra attention while you’re away and can not? Since we are also an animal hospital, Dr. Valese is available at all times to care for your pet while boarding with us should the need arise. That helps provide real peace of mind.
Boarding guests are also entitled to big discounts on bathing services so they can go home all spruced up after their stay with us. Be sure to ask for a discounted bath for your pet after boarding with us.
To help service your boarding needs better, please print out and complete this boarding reservation form.
It’s with pleasure that we are able to offer boarding facilities for your pet. In order that you may enjoy this service and better understand how it operates we ask that you read the following:
The boarding facility offered here at the Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono is a totally indoor facility which is centrally air conditioned and heated. Compartments and runs are available with each pet kept in individual quarters. These quarters are cleaned at least twice daily, more often as needed, and lined with a clean fleece mat. At these times our guests are supplied with fresh water and fed Hill’s premium food for optimum nutrition. Each dog is exercised twice daily in an outdoor run. Please ask us about ways we can provide your pet with even extra pampering.
Reservations in advance are sometimes necessary and always appreciated.
For your pets protection we require all our guests to be current on their vaccinations and free of external parasites (fleas, ticks, etc.). An intranasal kennel cough vaccine (Bordatella) is also required for all dogs. Proof of current vaccination must be provided prior to the time of boarding. If any of these services are needed they will be provided at our facility and charged at the usual fees.
For reasons of sanitation and orderliness, we ask that no toys, blankets, or other personal belongings be left with your pet. We cannot be responsible for loss or damage of such items.
Please give a date and approximate time of pick up to our receptionist. It is always best to call our hospital prior to picking up your pet so that everything is ready for you and your wait is minimized.
We recommend no food or water for two hours after arriving home from boarding, as excitement may cause over eating or over drinking which may lead to vomiting and/or diarrhea. After two hours start small amounts of food and water until your pet has quieted down and no longer seems hungry or thirsty. If vomiting or diarrhea does occur please call us right away.
All boarding fees are due when your pet is admitted with any additional fees due upon release of your pet.
As part of our ongoing effort to better control fleas and ticks, and to improve the overall sanitation of our boarders, we require all dogs to be bathed after each 7 nights of boarding with us. Regardless of the length of your pet’s stay, we advise that all pets receive a bath prior to going home. All pets feel better after a bath. These baths are provided at a discounted rate. Sedation will be used only if needed to provide the bath safely.
As always please feel free to ask any questions you have regarding your pet.
72 hours cancellation notice required for any boarding refunds.
