Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono – Pet Friend and Eco Friendly too

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

You already knew that when it comes to pet health care we are very cutting edge, but did you know the same holds true with our concern for the environment? Long before it became fashionable to be green, the AHMP was taking measures to reduce electricity usage and recycle waste. Since the late 1980’s we have replaced incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (PL). This was back when you couldn’t find PL bulbs in the stores and had to be special ordered. We recycle all appropriate glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, even printer cartridges and we have been for many years. Now we’ve taken the next step of eco friendliness and have contracted to have solar panels installed. These panels will reduce our electrical demand from the grid and when we are not open for business, it will supply electricity back to the grid and the local community. “This was just the next logical step in our efforts to both serve the local Mt. Pocono community and to be sensitive to our environment” says Dr. Joe Valese. We will keep you posted as to the progress of our new solar panels.
