Dr. Joseph Valese received his degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Michigan State University in 1983. He received a Master of Science degree in Animal Science from the Graduate School of Rutgers University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Cook College, Rutgers University. Dr. Valese also has advanced dental training in periodontal and oral surgery, endodontic care (root canals), crown and restoration and orthodontic care of pets. Dr. Valese has owned and operated the Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono since 1986. He also operates a pet dental care clinic (All Pets Dental Care). Here he provides dental care for local pets and patients referred by other veterinarians from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

As the only doctor at the Animal Hospital of Mt. Pocono, there is always continuity in the healthcare of you pet as Dr. Valese really does know his patients. “I enjoy the practice of veterinary medicine immensely. I receive great joy in helping people care for the pet members of their family. When it comes to your pet, whether furry or feathered, I treat them as if they were my own.” This kind of caring shows through from not only Dr. Valese, but from all his highly trained staff members. You can tell they all really want to be there. Dr Valese, along with his wife Debbie enjoy many of the outdoor activities the Pocono Mountains has to offer, including skiing, hiking, biking and running. In fact, in 2002, Dr. Valese completed his first marathon as he ran the Steamtown Marathon held in Scranton, Pa. Then in 2006 both he and his wife completed the same marathon.

He and his staff work outside of the office to help support various community activities. Dr & Mrs Valese also provide an annual scholarship, they created, for a deserving Pocono Mountain High School graduating senior who hopes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. This beings the Future Veterinarian Scholarship. As the community has supported us, so do we in turn support the community.
